Bed and Breakfast at Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, CANADA
On the first floor of our comfortable, year 2000 build house, we operate a very tranquil Bed and Breakfast with just one cosy and clean room on the ground floor.
There are no stairs to climb. This is another reason why this Bed and Breakfast is very suitable for the more mature travellers between us.
The B&B room has a separate entrance – independent from the private area of our home, and of course its private bath room.
There is a large closet, in-floor heating, a parking spot right in front and much more. The room is equipped with one double bed.
The B&B room has its private bath room with shower, sink and toilet.
We can accommodate one person or a couple. Just in case, we do provide an extra bunk bed for an additional child.
Young or old, one night or longer, singles or couples are welcome. Especially we welcome bikers, bag packers or bicycle riders.
Of course we would be happy to welcome you if you are a submarine or a helicopter crew …please check out our mooring first... Anyway, a roofed sleeping place for your bike or a spot in our barn to dry your wet tents are provided free of charge.
If you want to bring your pet, you definitely have to contact us up-front. Sorry, No smoking permitted.
Usually, a "real" breakfast with eggs from our own "happy" chicken, with bacon, toast, coffee or tea, orange juice, home-made jam and bread will be served. However, special arrangements are welcome. Please let us know if you require any special care for allergist or diabetics.

Breakfast and Sauna House
A real breakfast with bacon and eggs - if you like - from "our own happy chicken" will be served here |
Breakfast is served in this log house made from hemlock, pine and cedar. You will love the smell.
We feed our chicken with lots of greens and we give them year round crushed oyster shells. Our little son Max is not too excited about picking oyster shells at the beach and to hand crush them… Furthermore we feed our chicken a lot of flax seed. If you believe what the doctors talk about, this will make the eggs rich in Omega 3 and other fatty acids and so they are very healthy.
If you do not believe it, the chickens seem to be very pleased at our place… Just look at them if you are here...
By the way, the coffee we serve is "Fair Traded" and "Certified Organic".
B&B For the fellows who want to know it in detail: the dimensions of the bed are: 6'7" by 4'10" (200 cm x 104 cm). |
B&B Because of the massive floor, the room is - even in hot midsummer days - pleasantly cool. |
B&B The B&B room is meant to accommodate two adults; and if needed we provide an additional air bed for a child. |
Explore the world famous “Max Bridge” and have a stroll at the “Wet Feet Ave” behind our barn towards the Bald Eagles nest. There is almost no traffic to watch…
It is about 250 feet on this path from the B&B to our own shore– along of a picturesque fresh-water biotope with a wide selection of animals (water birds, beaver, turtles, minnows,…). |
From the B&B to the cottage it is about 600 feet (200 m) right of this path, along our shore of the Bras d'Or Lake. However, there is no direct view between the B&B and the cottage.. |
The bald eagles are here daily. This photo was taken on the pine tree just 60 Ft. besides the B&B. I hope you enjoy having your breakfast side on side with the bald eagle? |

Also, we are offering additional services like recommendations for your tour's or the arrangement of it e.g. to waterfalls, to Salt Mountain or whale or bird watching tours, deep sea fishing or whatever you wish. Let's talk about it.
Or sleep a little bit longer, and let us know that you would like your eggs served an hour later.
