Cottage at Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada...
...right at the shore of the Bras d’Or Lake almost halfway between Baddeck and the Canso Causeway
The Cottage
On this 36 acre wooded property we offer you a cozy and comfortable cottage right at the beach of the Bras d’Or Lakes.
Your private driveway, your own lawn and your own water frontage is a guarantee for lots of privacy.
The wooden cottage was finished 1999 and ecological aspects had a strong influence on how to build and where to build it.
An outstanding panoramic view over the crystal clear water of the Bras d’Or Lakes toward the mountains on the opposite shore, the location at a sheltered cove at the Southside of the Bay of Whycocomagh and the rich wildlife in the water and on-shore of this wooded property, were the main reasons to place the cottage right here
The cathedral ceiling and the loft give you a generous feeling of height and space inside the cottage. Lots of pine wood not only provides a lovely smell, it gives your eyes a pleasant contrast to the white coloured areas.
Here are a few photos from the cottage - please click to enlarge -

The overall dimensions of the cottage are around 26 Ft by 22 Ft (8.00 m x 6.80 m) on the ground level and 10 Ft by 12 Ft (3.10 m x 3.60 m) for the loft.
Via the hallway you access the large combined living area. Here you can relax on a comfortable pull-out sofa. Just in case, this pull-out couch would sleep 2 people.
We are a non-smoking facility and outside footwear is not allowed inside the cottage.
Would you mind not to forget slippers for inside the cottage, please?
Thank you very much.

The cottage is very well insulated and therefore nice and cool during the hot summer weeks and cozy and warm during the winter.
Even though black flies and mosquitoes are not an issue because of the salty breeze from the Bras d’Or Lakes – it is the largest saltwater lake on earth - all windows are screened.
There is one bath room in the cottage, with sink, shower and toilet.
